Who we are
Alliance Player Pathway is a sports recruitment and player placement initiative focused on connecting talented African athletes with educational and sporting opportunities abroad, particularly in the United States. The organisation serves as a bridge between athletes, families, coaches, and colleges, helping players access the right networks, guidance, exposure, and recruitment support needed to move forward.
For many international athletes, US college sports are a mystery. It is a process athletes and families want to understand, yet no one is here to tell you how to do it – and do it well. A.P.P was created to provide aspiring sportsmen & women with opportunities to pursue both their academic and sporting careers at American universities. Built on personal experience, passion, and a commitment to uplifting talent, Alliance Player Pathways connects gifted young athletes in Africa with opportunities in the U.S. collegiate system. Our goal is simple: to ensure that no deserving athlete is overlooked, and to give each of them the same shot that the founders, O-Rephemetse & Medupe, once received.
A.P.P isn’t just an agency; it’s a movement to open doors, change futures, and prove that academic and athletic excellence belong on every stage.
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
Alliance Player Pathway was founded by O-Rephemetse Maphatsoe and Medupe Sithole, two African student-athletes who understand firsthand the challenges talented players face when trying to access opportunities in the United States.
O-Rephemetse, from South Africa, and Medupe, from Botswana, have both experienced the college recruitment journey and understand the importance of exposure, academic preparation, strong communication, and having the right people advocating for an athlete. Their experiences inspired them to create an agency focused on connecting African talent with collegiate and professional opportunities in the United States.
As Co-Founders and Placement Coordinators, O-Rephemetse and Medupe work closely with athletes, families, coaches, colleges, and clubs to identify the right opportunities for each player. Their mission is to bridge the gap between African talent and opportunities abroad while providing athletes with honest guidance, professional representation, and a clear pathway toward achieving their academic and athletic goals.
